The Bureau of Information Technology (BIT) is the designated Information Technology (IT) Managed Services Provider to the GVI. BIT is responsible for the Comprehensive Technology Strategy of the Government of the Virgin Islands (GVI) and providing access and support to all common use IT (hardware and software). The team of technical and administrative professionals at BIT provide innovative, cost effective, and reliable solutions to the network, application, infrastructure, and cybersecurity needs of the agencies and staff that provide services to the people of the USVI. GNOSC
BIT has implemented a Government Network & Operations Security Center to provide situational awareness, operational support, and development services in the support of the GVI One IT Network Enterprise.
GVI One Service Desk
BIT utilizes a state-of-the-art self-service platform for the reporting of IT Incidents and requesting IT Services.
Cybersecurity Awareness Program
This is a GVI Awareness Effort aimed at increasing the understanding of cyber threats and empowering GVI employees to be safer and more secure online. (links to cybersecurity training platform description)
Critical Communications Support
BIT plays a strategic role in supporting the GVI First Responders both during normal operations and during disaster response scenarios. Take a look at some of the projects that we support in this effort.
